Changing a VM Storage Policy

Introduction

This guide is aid changing a virtual machines storage policy.

We have two storage policies to choose from:

  • AllFlash-Standard is limited to a maximum of 500 IOPS per disk per VM

  • AllFlash-Premium is unlimited number of IOPS.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  • Log in to https://portal.cloudist.se

  • Select Virtual Data Center service

  • Select the Virtual Datacenter name where the virtual machine you would like to modify resides

  • In Cloud Director interface, select the Virtual Datacenter where the virtual machine you would like to modify resides 

  • On the Virtual Machine click on Details

 

  • Go to Hard Disks and click Edit

Select the appropriate policy from the drop down and click Save to apply the changes

  • Observe that the task has completed in the Recent Tasks panel below

You can choose a default storage policy so any new vm or disk is created with your preferred choice
