Cloud Director local user management

Introduction

This guide will assist in creating and managing local Cloud Director accounts in a specific tenant (customer organization).

Prerequisites

  • Cloudist VDC service is enabled for the specific tenant

  • Portal account with SuperAdmin or Admin role assigned (corresponds to Cloud Director Organizational Administrator role).

Procedure

Please note: When creating local Cloud Director user accounts make sure to enforce a strong password policy of your own since Cloud Director only has a minimum password requirement of 6 characters and no requirement for complex passwords.

Please note: local Cloud Director user accounts will be deprecated in upcoming releases of the product.

Please note: The local Cloud Director user cannot be managed through Cloudist Portal, only through Cloud Director user interface or API.

  • Log in to https://portal.cloudist.se

  • Select Virtual Data Center

  • Select the Virtual Datacenter you want to manage and click on the Virtual Datacenter name

     

  • In Cloud Director interface, go to Administration, Access Control, Users and click New and fill in the details and select the appropriate role, click Save.
