Deleting a VM

Introduction

VMs can sometimes not be deleted. Adding them to a temporary vApp solves the issue.

Prerequisites

Procedure

• Log in to https://portal.cloudist.se

• Select Virtual Data Center service

  Open

  

• Select the Virtual Datacenter where the virtual machine resides and click on Virtual Datacenter name

  Open

  

• Select the Virtual Datacenter where the virtual machine you would like to delete resides 

• When you try to delete the VM, you might get a response similar to this:

   

• When you check for vApps, the VM in question does not belong to any visible vApp

   

• Click the dots next to VM, select “Convert to vApp“

• The VM now belongs to a vApp

   

• You can now go ahead and delete the VM to empty the vApp, and once that is done you can delete the vApp.
