Introduction
This guide is for performing an on-premise virtual machine Protection via the Cloudist VDCuser interface.
These steps are also applicable for performing migrations via the VMware Cloud Director Availability extension for your on-prem vSphere environment.
Prerequisites
You must be onboarded in the Cloudist Solutions Portal and have:
A provisioned Virtual Data Center via the Cloudist VDC service
Your customer/organization number
Your username and password
You must have deployed the VMware Cloud Director Availability On-premises Appliance
You have Allow Access from Cloud selected

The Cloudist VDC Availability Disaster Recovery interface can also be reached directly via the following urls - Sites can be managed asynchronously. Login details for these are your Cloudist Solutions Portal username@customer/org numer number and password.

Initiating a Failover
Once the first replication has completed, further replications will continue as definid by the chosen SLA Profile.
If or when the time comes to fail over the virtual machine:
Select the correct virtual machine and click on the Fail Over icon (available also via All Actions menu

Power on the VM
Connect to a VCD network or keep preconfigured settings
