Virtual machines should be created for at least 2 hours prior before adding backup. This is for the platform to automatically discover the virtual machine.
To backup a VM
Log in to https://portal.cloudist.solutions
Select ‘Virtual Data Center’

Select Region, and click on ‘Log in to VDC’

Once logged into your VDC, click ‘More’, then ‘Data Protection’

Click ‘vApps/VMs'

Verify the status of VMs in the ‘Protection Status’ column. If any of the VMs that you want to back up are in an 'Undiscovered' state, then you must first discover that VM. See Discover VMs for details.
If the status of the VM is 'Unprotected', click here an unprotected VM:

In this procedure, we will select ‘Protect VM’
In the ‘Protect Now’ window, Click ‘Create New Group’. You can select an existing group too.
Configure the protection group details and click Save. The 'Protection Status’ will be updated as Protected on success. You can verify the status the appropriate Region
