Restoring vApps

Introduction

This guide is to show how to restore protected vApps already backed up by the Cloudist Solutions VDC backup feature

Prerequisites

Backup has been applied to vApp at least 24h prior to attempting restore.

Procedure

To restore a vApp

  • Log in to https://portal.cloudist.se

  • Select Virtual Data Center service

  • Select Virtual Datacenter and click on the Virtual Datacenter name

  • Once logged into your VDC, click More, then Data Protection

 

  • Click Recovery, Recover and vApp

  • You can search for a specific vApp name or use wildcard characters such as * to list all the VMs in the vApp

 

  • Select a specific vApp, and click Continue

  • Configure the details:

    • Under vApp Details, enter a prefix and suffix that will help you identify the vApp being restored

    • Under VM Details, enter a similar prefix

  • Under Restore Properties, select the snapshot that you want to recover

  • Click Restore

  • In the Confirmation dialog, click Yes
