Management Agent installation

After the customer has been added to Veeam Service Provider Console (see /wiki/spaces/SERVICES/pages/1963753473), the clients can be added.

  1. Navigate to Discovery and switch to the Discovered Computers tab.

  2. Download the Management Agent by clicking Download Agent. This can be done on the client directly, otherwise the downloaded installation package needs to be transferred to the client computer.

  3. Install the Management Agent.

  4. Once installed, start the agent. The agent will be started minimized in the system tray (on a Windows machine).

  5. Start the Management Agent UI and enter the following information:

    1. Address: cloudconnect.fortlax.se

    2. Port: 6180 (default)

    3. Username: <full company name>\username OR <login alias>\<username> (set when creating the customer)

    4. Password: Password set for company.

  6. Click Apply and wait for the connection to finalize.

Backup Agent installation

Switch back to VSPC and wait for the Management Agent to report in on the Discovered Computers tab.

  1. Select the computer and click Install Backup Agent above the list.

  2. Select backup policy that should be used, for custom backup policy (ie customer specific paths or application aware settings).

  3. When creating a backup policy, make sure it is marked as private, otherwise all other users and resellers are able to use and edit the policy.

A backup policy contains settings on what to backup, storage destination (Veeam Cloud Connect repository to store it on Cloudist Online Backup storage), retention settings and schedule. It also contains settings for guest processing (backup for MS-SQL, Oracle or SharePoint along with support for pre- and post backup scripts).

  4. Once the backup policy has been created or selected, VSPC will push the installation package to the client and then start installation.
